One of my destionation dream this year is Belitung Island, but I don’t know how to called it fortune or misfortune, I’ve got a work assignment to Bangka Island where just next door od Belitung Island. So, after a very busy schedule and so on, I was flying to Bangka with two colleagues. Arrived at Depati Amir Airport (which is so small as I guess before), we picked up by a person from my company’s branch here. We went to the hotel and prepare some things for the next day event (FYI, I came here to make sure the preparation and also the execution of this event). So after two days working here, I’ve got free time to enjoy Bangka 🙂

So, we went to eat at long line beach with a wide sand all over named Pasir Padi Beach. The Nelayan Restaurant at this beach also delightful. I made some nice photographs eventough the weather wasn’t really friendly at that time.

The famous food in Bangka, absolutely, is seafood. You can find various fishes and also the special giant crab! Yummy… We went to Raja Laut Restaurant at Sei Liat, Bangka. It’s approximately 40 minutes from Pangkal Pinang, the centre of Bangka. ‘Kepiting Saus Padang’ is my favourite and the taste was delicious! We paid not really expensive rate, only 125.000 IDR for two big crab!

The day after, we went to Parai Beach which is took 60 minutes to go. Start at 07.00, we drove the car into Se Liat fastly because of we had to catch up the next flight at 11.00 am. The Parai Beach is almost likely beaches at Belitung Island, where Laskar Pelangi movies taken and make it very famous now. The stone scattered over the beach and you can play, sit or even touch the wave from it. First, we jump into Parai Resort, pay 15.000 IDR to enjoy the view and got 1 can of cokes 🙂

Arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport at 01.00 pm, I run to terminal 3 where my next flight waiting. Cancelled until 10.00 pm, thanks God, the airlines gave me another plan at 03.00 pm and it’s for FREE! Catch up at Ngurah Rai Airport at 06.00 pm, I was waiting for my friend to picked me up. We stayed at small villa near Sanur Beach. The cost is quite reasonable and to be honest, cheap. Only 500.000 IDR for a night and you can stay with all of your friend there. There are small swimming pool in front of our room, small kitchen to cook noodles or coffee, one quite comfortable livingroom and big size of bedroom to stay. We rented a 100.000 IDR car per day, which is it’s so cheap. We drove over from Sanur – Denpasar – Kuta – Legian and only paid for 150.000 IDR for 3 days!

The reason we came to Bali was to visit my bestfriend wedding. Her name is Ni Putu Raida Devi Padmansari, a originally beautiful girl from Bali. She married to the love of her live, Gusur. And they made a very beautiful and traditionally wedding with Balinese culture. I love to see her wedding and we prepared to came at 07.00 am to see all the preparation and ceremonial. Indonesia is a very colourful country and have a various culture from many tribes. Myself either never saw any Balinese wedding and for me, it was wonderful. Leads by the vendetta of Hindhu-Bali, the ceremonial was very quiet and peaceful. Some flowers used for praying, some holy water and also some incense burning. It was delightful for us to see.

Three days and two night at Bali were not enough for me to enjoy the beaches, food and people. Should be back there again to spend more days. When leaving Bali, my heart was broken. This island definitely brought me a little hope of peace after my very busy work at Jakarta.
